New Features and Enhancements
- Simplify Suite products utilizing the database now install and use the Microsoft ODBC Driver v17.4.1.1 for SQL Server. This driver supports TLS v1.2 and allows the suspension of TLS v1.0 and TLS v1.1 protocols on your servers.
- Updated to use the latest LM-X SDK v4.9.15 from our licensing vendor X-Formation for increased stability. Licensing related network traffic has been reduced
- SDM allows hostname/FQDN or IP to be used now.
Improvements and Fixes
- Several installer bugs were fixed.
- Installing with a user whose SQL permissions are granted entirely through AD group membership is now supported.
- Installer database detection and permissions checking has been improved.
- When Microsoft AddPrinter calls fail, a message is added to the Application event log with an id of 10356. The message will include the printer name, user name and error description.
- SDM driver caching was improved.
- Fixed a bug that could (rarely) crash the Simplify Notification Service.exe on service startup.
Known Issues
- Installer support has been dropped for 2008 32bit operating systems.
- When limiting the number of ScrewDrivers client printers created on the server, the limit does not consider server denied printer drivers. Example, you could limit to build 4 printers maximum, but if 4 of those printers are denied due to the driver name, no ScrewDrivers printer will be created for the User! This will be addressed in a future release.
