Controlling Printing Default Settings

This information is specific to ScrewDrivers V7.

The procedure below applies to both ScrewDrivers Endpoint Client printers and ScrewDrivers Print Server printers.

Procedure for setting printing defaults

  1. From Devices and Printers or Print Management image-20241205-203621.png image-20241205-203648.png

  2. Highlight the printer and right-click and choose Printer properties or Properties image-20241205-203848.png

  3. Click the Advanced tab image-20241205-203951.png

  4. Click the Printing Defaults button image-20241205-204030.png

  5. This will bring up printing the manufacturers dialog image-20241205-210753.png

  6. Change the settings as desired and be sure to Apply

Be sure to Refresh your settings!

Before the new settings will apply using ScrewDrivers, you will need to refresh the printer from either the ScrewDrivers Endpoint Client image-20241205-211728.png or ScrewDrivers Administration image-20241205-211944.png Once the query or refresh is complete, you are ready to test in a new session on the server.

Options unique to ScrewDrivers Endpoint Client

There are 2 options for saving printer settings on the endpoint client machine image-20241205-212622.png

  1. The default option is to Cache to the registry. This is the most common option.

  2. A lesser used option is to dynamically query the printer settings each time a session is started. Click this radio button to enable.

  3. Click the Query Printers button to query and cache the current printers and save to the registry. If using option 2, you can skip this option.
