Installing Tricerat Products on Windows Server 2008 R1 and Windows Vista (64-bit)

Introduction

Windows Server 2008 R1 and Windows Vista have evolved over time and Microsoft has addressed many early shortfalls. 

Service Pack 2 Required 

Requirement: Before any Tricerat product can be successfully installed on Windows Server 2008 R1 or Windows Vista (64-bit), a minimum of Service Pack 2 is required. 

Best Practice: Download and install the latest Microsoft Service Pack for Windows Server 2008 R1 or Windows Vista (64-bit) before installing any Tricerat products. 

Hotfix 380917 Required 

Requirement: Before any Tricerat product can be successfully installed on Windows Server 2008 R1 or Windows Vista (64-bit), Microsoft Hotfix 380917 is required. 

Best Practice: Apply Hotfix 380917 in a test environment and test fully before deploying on production machines.

Windows Updates 

Best Practice: Download and install the latest Microsoft Windows Updates for Windows Server 2008 R1 or Windows Vista (64-bit) and bring the machine current on all Windows Updates before installing any Tricerat products.
