New Features and Enhancements

• User Printer Assignments can now be done using maps!  This is a new enhancement for both Simplify Printing and Simplify Driver Management products.

• The Simplify User Assigned Printers Tool UI has been redesigned.  This is a glimpse into our version 7 complete UI overhaul.

• Database support for multiple default printer assignments are now allowed for custom owners.  This is especially useful when you receive printer assignments by custom owners: IP, IP range or client machine name.

• Printer settings are now persistent between user sessions!  This works for both ScrewDrivers and Print Server Printers.

• Are you an MSP and support different customers using a single domain?  You may be interested in our new restrictive active directory display in the Simplify Console.  Please Contact Tricerat Support for details.

Improvements and Fixes

• Several installer bugs were fixed.

• License based installer will verify the license server address and version when using a license server.

• A bug where our Advanced Print Features (APF) dialog could background an application has been fixed.

• A bug where a license checkin could hang the notification service has been fixed.

• We modified our license checkouts to minimize the number of checkouts by user SYSTEM.  The correct username should be shown in the Tricerat licensing console.

• Several improvements were made to APF to support more printer drivers.

• A bug was fixed in the ScrewDrivers driver UI DLL which could hang some applications.

• A Simplify Console bug was fixed when using Select In Objects Tree from the Assignments pane to navigate to a print server printer.

• A bug that caused Simplify Printing session handlers to crash on logoff or disconnect was fixed.  This was only an issue for users that had Tricerat PDF printer assignments.

• Several bugs were fixed for Service Based Printing.

Known Issues

• When installing on German, French, Spanish or Japanese native language operating systems, you must use the native language for the installer.  Failure to do so may compromise the un-install at a later date.  You may safely change the display language for Tricerat products after the install.

• Under certain conditions, Advanced Print Features may fail due to the case sensitive comparison of printer driver DLL names.

• The Simplify Driver Management Map Management tool does not correctly support Static Windows Authentication.  Other authentication methods, Windows User Authentication and SQL Authentication work correctly.

• The Simplify Print Server install does not support silent install command line options; you must install interactively.

• The Simplify User Assigned Printers Tool does not process command line arguments.
