Printer Assignments to Client Custom Owners Do Not Build in VMware Horizon

Problem

Clients connecting with PCoIP to a VMware Horizon virtual desktop do not populate the common registry settings for CLIENTNAME. As a result, clients that are defined as a custom owner will not match printer assignments, and a login from a client will not get the intended printers.

Solution

To enable client owner matching for assignments in VMware Horizon environments, set the following registry setting:

Key: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Tricerat\Simplify (v6) HKLM\SOFTWARE\Tricerat\Common (v7)
Value: UseBackupOwner
Value Type: REG_DWORD
Value Data: 1
